The rules that keep Rentoverse honest, useful, and safe for every renter and landlord in India.

Please read these Terms of Use carefully before using Rentoverse (“the Platform”). These Terms apply to all visitors, registered users, landlords, tenants, and any other party who accesses or uses the Platform.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Rentoverse (“the Platform”), whether as a registered user or a guest, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use (“Terms”). If you do not agree, please do not use the Platform. These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and Rentoverse under the laws of India, including the Information Technology Act, 2000.

2. Eligibility

To use Rentoverse you must:

  • Be at least 18 years of age.
  • Be capable of entering into a legally binding contract under Indian law.
  • Not be previously banned or suspended from Rentoverse for violating these Terms.

By creating an account you represent and warrant that you meet all of the above eligibility requirements.

3. Platform Purpose

Rentoverse is a community-powered rental discovery platform. Its purpose is to help renters across India find genuine flats, PGs, flatmates and rental homes at honest market prices — without paying broker commissions.

Rentoverse is not a real estate agency, broker, developer, or property management company. We do not verify ownership of properties, guarantee the accuracy of rent prices, or act as an intermediary in financial transactions between users.

All property listings and rent data on the Platform are contributed voluntarily by the community. Users are solely responsible for verifying any information before entering into a rental agreement.

4. User Accounts

  • You may create only one account per person. Multiple accounts for the same individual are not permitted.
  • You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account.
  • You must notify us immediately through our Contact page if you suspect unauthorised access to your account.
  • We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, are found to be fraudulent, or are used to harm other users or the community.

5. Listing Rules

When you post a property pin on Rentoverse, you agree that the listing will:

  • Be accurate: The locality, rent, property type, and furnishing details must reflect the actual property. Knowingly posting false rent figures or misleading descriptions is prohibited.
  • Be your own to post: You must be the property owner, an authorised tenant, a resident, or have the landlord's explicit permission to advertise the property. Broker listings are not permitted.
  • Not be a broker clickbait listing: Listings that exist solely to generate phone enquiries with no genuine rental intent will be removed. Listings from professional brokers or agents acting for a fee are prohibited.
  • Not contain spam: Duplicate listings for the same property, listings with multiple contact numbers, or listings that link to external websites are prohibited.
  • Not contain harmful content: Listings with offensive, casteist, sexist, or discriminatory language in any field will be removed immediately.

All listings are subject to automated AI-powered content moderation before becoming publicly visible. Approved listings may still be removed later if they are reported and found to violate these rules.

6. Community Conduct

When leaving ratings, comments, or using the AI assistant, you agree not to:

  • Post false, misleading, or defamatory information about any property or its owner.
  • Harass, threaten, or intimidate other users in any way.
  • Share another person's personal contact information without their consent (doxxing).
  • Submit automated, bot-generated, or coordinated fake reviews.
  • Use the platform to conduct phishing, scams, or any kind of financial fraud.
  • Attempt to manipulate rent price data through mass fake submissions.

We welcome honest criticism and negative reviews where they reflect genuine experience. Accurate negative community feedback helps renters make better decisions.

7. User-Contributed Content

By submitting any content to Rentoverse — including property listings, rent data, photos, ratings, comments, or AI chat messages — you grant Rentoverse a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide licence to use, store, display, and distribute that content for the purpose of operating and improving the Platform.

You retain ownership of your content. We will not sell your content to third parties or use it in ways unrelated to operating Rentoverse.

You represent that you have all necessary rights to submit the content and that doing so does not infringe any third-party intellectual property, privacy, or other rights.

8. AI Features

Rentoverse provides AI-powered features including natural language search, rent prediction, area insights, listing description generation, and an AI chat assistant. You acknowledge that:

  • AI-generated content, including rent estimates and area insights, is based on available community data and may not be accurate for all localities or time periods. It should not be used as the sole basis for financial decisions.
  • You must not use AI features to generate fraudulent listing descriptions, misleading rent estimates, or harmful content of any kind.
  • AI conversations are processed by OpenAI's API. By using AI features, you agree to OpenAI's usage policies.

9. Disclaimer of Warranties

Rentoverse is provided “as is” and “as available” without any warranty of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to:

  • The accuracy, completeness, or timeliness of any listing, rent price, or area data.
  • The availability, reliability, or performance of the Platform at any given time.
  • That listings are legitimate, that landlords are genuine, or that properties are available.

Always independently verify any rental property before making a payment, signing a lease, or sharing personal financial information with a landlord or tenant.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Rentoverse and its founders, employees, and affiliates shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Platform, including but not limited to financial losses resulting from rental transactions that originated on Rentoverse, loss of data, or reputational harm. Our total liability to you for any claim shall not exceed ₹1,000 (Indian Rupees One Thousand).

11. Prohibited Uses

You may not use Rentoverse to:

  • Scrape, crawl, or automatically extract listing data without written permission.
  • Reverse-engineer, decompile, or copy the Platform's source code or algorithms.
  • Conduct denial-of-service attacks or attempt to gain unauthorised access to our systems.
  • Impersonate any person, company, or Rentoverse staff member.
  • Use the Platform for any purpose that violates applicable Indian law.

12. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to Rentoverse at any time, with or without notice, if we reasonably believe you have violated these Terms. You may delete your account at any time from your dashboard settings. Upon termination, your public listings will be removed. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (including Sections 7, 9, 10, and 13) will continue to apply.

13. Governing Law and Disputes

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of India. Any dispute arising from your use of Rentoverse shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in Bengaluru, Karnataka, India. Before pursuing formal legal action, we encourage you to use our Contact page so we can attempt to resolve the matter informally.

14. Changes to These Terms

We reserve the right to update these Terms at any time. We will notify registered users by email and update the “Last updated” date on this page. Your continued use of the Platform after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
